Was It Worthwhile?

Even though Satan corrupted many parts of the world after he was let loose from his own prison he still lost to God. How? He got many souls in Hell but he wasn't closer to get back to Heaven or part of his plan to take over. Him and his fallen angels failed to take over above and failed more miserably getting back. 

In short was this all worth it trying to exact revenge on God? He can't win over God or Jesus Christ or all of the angels currently in Heaven.
