On earth itself there are and were millions of people who betrayed the other people in business as well as personal. Just to have power by hurting people but what Lucifer did was no excuse for his own devious plan to betray God his former father. On earth people who mock God's 8th Commandment of Thou Shalt Not Steal because what they had wasn't enough they wanted more and had no idea how they hurt others. It doesn't take a genius to figure out what God had said to Lucifer before banishing him and the angels who followed him. He was given powers along with living in paradise and yet it wasn't enough he turned on his own father. The aftermath for him was a one way trip from Heaven straight to Hell then. Now called Satan he was never able to defeat God.
